10 Reasons Why The SkyFlip Stunt Jet Is The Gift Kids Want Most This Christmas

By Dana Whitfield

Summary: It lifts straight off the living room floor, does a full roll with one button and shrugs off crashes. Here is why families are flying it together this winter.

1. It Lifts Straight Up From Where They Stand

There is no runway and no big field required. They set it down, press one button and it lifts straight up and hovers.

A driveway, a garage or the living room floor is enough room to start. That first lift is when the whole room says wow.

2. Kids Fly It The Very First Day

Lots of parents worry it will be too hard. It is not. One-key takeoff and landing does the tricky part for them.

They press a button, it rises, and they are steering in minutes. There is no long practice and no waiting on a grown-up to figure it out.

3. A Crash Does Not End The Fun

Will it break on the first crash? The body is light EPP foam that is made to take bumps.

It hits the sofa, drops to the rug and comes up whole. They pick it up and keep flying.

4. One Button Does A Full 360 Roll

This is the trick they will show off to everyone. One press and the jet does a full 360 degree roll in the air.

There are no hard stick moves to learn. Kids feel like real stunt pilots right away.

5. The Lights Make It Easy To Follow

The jet glows with red, green and blue LED lights. That makes it easy to spot in a dim room or outside at dusk.

When the sun goes down early in winter, the flying does not have to stop.

6. It Keeps Up As They Get Better

The remote has a speed switch. They start slow while they learn, then flip it faster once they get the hang of it.

So it does not get boring after a week. It grows with their skills.

7. A Grown-Up Can Stop It In One Press

Flying past the sofa and the coffee table? The remote has an emergency stop button.

If the jet heads somewhere it should not go, one press ends the flight. Parents relax, and kids keep flying.

8. Dads Want A Turn Too

The hover and the roll are just as fun at 40 as they are at 10. Dads and grandpas keep asking for the remote.

It turns into something they do together, taking turns and cheering each other on.

9. A Broken Blade Is A Five-Minute Fix

Propeller blades can snap. That is why the box comes with 4 spare blades and a screwdriver.

They swap the blade, tighten the screw and it is back in the air. There is no store trip and no waiting.

10. Charge It Up And Fly Again

It runs on a rechargeable battery, and the USB charging cable is right in the box.

There are no store batteries to hunt for. They plug it in, let it charge and head back out for another round.

I figured this would be one of those toys that gets played with once and then sits in the closet. I was wrong.

We took it out to the backyard and my son had it up in the air in a few minutes. The one-button takeoff made it easy for him. Then he found the roll button and would not stop doing flips.

He clipped the fence twice. The foam body bounced right off and kept going. One blade did crack later, but the spares and the little screwdriver were in the box, so we fixed it right there on the patio.

Honestly, I kept asking for a turn. Now it is our thing after dinner while there is still some light, and the colored lights help a lot when it starts getting dark.

I am not good with gadgets, so I was nervous this would be too hard for the grandkids, or for me.

It was not. We pushed the coffee table aside in the living room, pressed one button, and it lifted straight up off the carpet and just hovered there. The kids screamed. So did I.

I liked the emergency stop button. When it drifted toward my lamp, I pressed it and the jet came down onto the carpet. No harm done. They kept the speed on slow at first, and my oldest grandson switched it to fast by the end of the day.

The lights are so pretty when the room is dim. When the battery ran low, we plugged it in with the cable and they were back at it later that evening. I am so glad I got it.
